Let’s be honest, caregiving is tough. It can be a complex and isolating road, one that the people around you often struggle to understand. Many caregivers feel like they are thrown in the deep end, without much warning or support.
Despite the difficulties, caregivers aren’t powerless. Outside of formal services, such as respite care and other home and community-based options, there are many tools that can make your day-to-day tasks a little easier.
These often help to support your family member’s independence too – giving them the ability to meet their own needs more effectively.

They’re also easy to overlook. Most people don’t actually know what items are out there.
After all, there are countless products on the market, which each make their own claims. It’s easy to assume that adaptive items just aren’t worth the time or the money. This is particularly true for caregivers, as finances are often tight. You don’t want to be paying something that isn’t going to make a difference.
But, don’t give up too quickly. The right items can truly make the world of difference.
