Subscription boxes aren’t just popular. They’re also amazing. Subscription boxes for caregivers can be the perfect way to give yourself a treat, one that requests hardly any work on your part.
The general idea is simple. You sign up for a subscription, then you’re sent out a box packed with goodies every month, or perhaps every few months.
You never know exactly what the box will contain each month. That’s part of the fun. It’s like being given a gift, which might be exactly what you need some days.
There are a ton of these boxes to choose from – and some are much better than others. That’s why this post is focusing on our favorite subscription boxes for caregivers. These come in a variety of styles and all have their own advantages. Why not take a look? And please, let us know in the comments section if we’ve missed any of your personal favorites.

TheraBox
TheraBox is promoted as a Self Care Subscription Box, making it an excellent choice for caregivers. Sure, you could buy self care items yourself, but there’s something wonderful about having a surprise selection turn up at your door.
Plus, as a caregiver, I found it difficult to justify spending money on myself. Every time I was at the store, I could think of many more ‘important’ things and felt guilty about purchases for myself. A subscription box helps in this area, because you just need to make the decision to buy it once.
And, as we’re mentioned elsewhere, self-care isn’t selfish. It’s essential for promoting your own health and having the resources to care for your loved one well.
As self care subscription boxes for caregivers go, TheraBox is one of the best. It gets excellent reviews and is popular (with more than 2,200 reviews at the time of writing).
The box costs $34.99 each month, if you order month-to-month. You can also prepay for 3, 6, or 12 months, with those prepaid plans all providing a discount on the monthly cost.
Each box provides you with between 6 and 8 products, along with one ‘happiness activity. The box itself is curated by therapists, making it even more powerful as a way to improve your wellbeing.
HopeBox
HopeBox is a second subscription that takes the self-care approach. This time, the box claims to help reduce anxiety and inspire home. Those are both important goals when you’re a caregiver.
It’s a more expensive box than most, but the quality of the products is simply amazing. Plus, you get at least 10 items in each month. These are all full-sized and vegan.
Tea, Simplicity Teas
The subscription box from Tea, Simplicity Teas is perfect for tea lovers. It’s also fantastic for caregivers who want an inexpensive treat, as the box starts as low as $9 per month.
There are two versions to choose from:
- Mini Two Teas of the Month Club ($9 per month + shipping). Contains 2 teas per month and a reusable infuser. You get roughly 15 cups of tea out of each month’s box.
- Teas Lover Teas of the Month Club (from $19.17 to $20 per month, with free shipping). Contains 4 full-sized teas. Some are in resealable bags, while others are in vials instead. You get the reusable infuser here too and you’ll end up with between 30 and 40 cups of tea per box.
All of the teas included are vegan-friendly and 100% organic. Some are designed to be enjoyed hot, while others are fantastic as iced tea instead.
If you need to avoid caffeine, stick to the mini box, as you can choose to receive only caffeine-free teas. In contrast, the larger box contains a roughly 50/50 mix of caffeinated to caffeine-free tea.
The Plant Club
Here’s another approach to try. As you can probably guess, The Plant Club is a gardening subscription box. It’s a powerful idea, as gardening can be therapeutic, helping to decrease your stress and improve your mood.
Most of the plants in this box are houseplants, making this a perfect box for gardening indoors. You don’t just get plants either. There is also a decorative container in each shipment, plus a goodie kit, ID tag, and information about the plant.
Joining a plant subscription is also a great way to make your home look and feel better. There’s something special about having live plants around you. Doing so can lift your spirits and those of your loved one.
The Adults & Crafts Crate
Who can deny the joys of crafting? Not only do get to create something new, but the process is a relaxing one that can take you away from the stresses of life – at least for a little while. Sourcing all the materials you need takes time and energy, so why not turn to something like The Adults & Crafts Crate instead?
Each month’s box comes with everything you need to create a new craft product, including instructions, tools, and materials. You’ll never get bored, as the type of craft varies from one month to the next. Examples include making candles, wine caddies, or resin coasters.
You could even order have two subscriptions, giving you and your family member the chance to work on each project together.
Urthbox
Urthbox is a snack subscription service. Each box contains full size snacks and drinks from a variety of brands. These products can vary dramatically, but there is always a focus on making sure that they’re high quality and healthy. You can choose from the following:
- Mini. $19.99-$27.99 for 7+ snacks
- Small. $29.99-$37.99 for 14+ snacks
- Medium. $39.99-$47.99 for 20+ snacks
- Large. $49.99-$57.99 for 27+ snacks
There are four box types as well:
- Classic. Healthy snacks.
- Gluten-free. There is an emphasis on gluten-free products, although they may not all be certified as gluten-free.
- Vegan. All products avoid animal-based ingredients and dairy.
- Diet. The products are all calorie, fat, and carb conscious.
The subscription is perfect for caregivers, as you’re getting healthy and delicious snacks that you don’t need to source yourself. They could be useful when you need something nutritious on the go or when you don’t have time to go to the store.
You might even share them with your family member.
Shaker & Spoon
If you love cocktails or want to try them out, a club like Shaker & Spoon is an excellent place to begin. After all, caregiving shouldn’t mean that you give up all the things you enjoy.
Besides, making cocktails at home is normally a frustrating experience. You need a variety of products, including spirits and liqueurs, which are normally sold in large bottles. This can be expensive and frustrating if you’re just hoping to play around with a few cocktails.
Shaker & Spoon gets around this problem by shipping the sizes that you need. Each box provides recipes and ingredients for 3 different cocktail recipes, with enough ingredients for 4 of each cocktail. This gives you a total of 12 cocktails from a single box.
All you need to do is buy the liquor that goes with each theme.
While it might seem frustrating that the boxes don’t include alcohol too, the approach makes sense. This way you can choose the exact type you want, which is perfect if you have a favorite brand. Plus, alcohol can only be shipped to some states. Keeping the alcohol out of these boxes makes sure that everyone can try the subscription for themselves.
Celebrate States
The Celebrate States subscription features a different state each month, shipping you out a variety of products from small businesses within the chosen state. While the products are often food or food-related, you may find household items or other products in the box as well (like the candle in the image above).
Boxes contain six to seven items, which are always full-sized.
You’ll often find other items too, like interactive activities, stickers, and coloring sheets. The exact selection varies from one box to the next, which is part of the fun.
Earthlove
This subscription box is a little different than most. For one thing, Earthlove focuses on products that are eco-conscious. These often comply with standards like zero waste packaging, gluten-free, non-GMO, and more. Plus, the products come from small businesses and artisans, so many would be difficult to find elsewhere.
There are six to eight full-sized products in each box. These cover a variety of areas, like wellness, home decor, gardening, and accessories.
The box ships quarterly, rather than every month, giving you a fantastic treat to look forward to. You can pay for just one box, but make sure to cancel the subscription after you receive it, or you’ll get another box three months later.
Butterfly Box
Butterfly Box is a faith-based subscription, designed for Christian women. It’s one of the few subscription boxes for caregivers with this focus and it’s powerful for that reason.
After all, faith can be a key part of the caregiving journey, giving you a sense of purpose and strength, while reminding you that there are always good things, even when life looks bleak.
The box focuses on a different Biblical theme each month. It includes five to six items, such as books, cards, decor, or paper products. While the products don’t focus on caregiving itself, you’re likely to find inspiration from them.
Peace & Pages
Peace & Pages combines two relaxing ideas in one – a book that will immerse you, along with products to help you relax. Your options include:
- Basic Box, which contains a book and two products.
- Deluxe Box, which contains a book and four products.
- Just the Peace Box, which contains the four products, without the book.
While the book is always chosen for you, there are 10 genres to select from. This helps make sure that you get a book you’re going to love. Subscription boxes for caregivers don’t get better than this.
As an added advantage, you can choose between ordering the book on a monthly and a bi-monthly basis. Bi-monthly could be if you don’t find yourself with enough time to finish a book in a month.
Bath Bevy
Here’s a fantastic box for anyone who loves taking a bath (and, let’s be honest, sometimes being in the bathroom is the only time that we’re undisturbed as caregivers, so why not take full advantage of our quiet time?). The Bath Bevy box contains a variety of products to make your bath better, including bath salts, bubble bath, and bath bombs.
If you don’t have a bath often, you can choose a quarterly subscription rather than a monthly one.
Don’t have a bath? No worries. There’s also a TUBLESS Bath Bevy Box. This time, none of the items require a tub at all. Instead, you’re getting products like body washes, lotions, whipped soap, and more.
Introverts Retreat
We’ve featured one book-related box already, but here’s a second one. It comes from a company called Introverts Retreat and features:
- A novel – either romance, general fiction, or mystery/thriller
- A small batch snack
- A hand-poured soy candle
- A 1 lb. bag of scented bath soap
- A bar of scented soap
Many of the products have an introvert theme. If you don’t like all the items, the same company has variations, like a box that just features the products and another that only sends a book each month.
Most importantly, Introverts Retreat allows you to return any book that you don’t love and they’ll replace it. This is perfect for anyone who is picky about their books.
